Terrazzo — the crown jewel

Terrazzo made in Qatar, for Qatar.

Every terrazzo tile we sell is manufactured by our group’s own factory — pressing and finishing terrazzo flooring in Qatar since 1979, engineered for this climate rather than imported into it. Most formats are pressed in Qatar; the 50×50 cm tile is produced by our own factory abroad to the same specification.

Why ours is different

From our factory floor to yours.

Terrazzo rewards control: the chips, the cement body, the curing and the finishing decide how a floor looks after twenty summers. Because the factory is ours, we control every step — and stand behind every square metre.

Choose from plain colours, chip designs and bordered & patterned designs, in standard formats with skirtings and custom sizes cut from parent tiles — including corner cuts for clean staircases and borders.

Finishes

Three finishes, three characters.

The same tile changes completely with its surface. See all three side by side in the showroom — or slide to compare here.

Honed

Ground smooth and even — the classic, quiet terrazzo surface for interiors.

Antico

Softly tumbled for a lived-in, antique character that hides the day’s traffic.

Shotblast

A granular, matte surface with extra grip — made for outdoor and wet areas.

Good to know

Terrazzo — common questions

Where is Al-Asema’s terrazzo made?
Manufactured by the Al-Asema group of companies’ own factory in Qatar, which has pressed terrazzo here since 1979 — the oldest terrazzo manufacturer in the country. Most formats are pressed in Qatar; the 50×50 cm tile is produced by our own factory abroad to the same specification.
What terrazzo finishes do you offer?
Three finishes — Honed, Antico and Shotblast — which you can compare side by side in our Salwa Road showroom.
Can you make custom terrazzo colours and designs?
Yes. As a manufacturer we can match a custom colour and press bordered or fully custom designs, alongside our standard range of plain colours, chip designs and patterned tiles. One honest condition: a custom design needs a large enough quantity to justify its production run.
What sizes and formats are available?
Standard formats including 40×40 cm and 50×50 cm, plus matching skirtings and custom cuts from parent tiles — including corner cuts for clean staircases and borders.
Where can terrazzo be used?
Our terrazzo is engineered for Qatar’s climate and suits indoor floors as well as outdoor areas — driveways, yards and other external spaces.
Does terrazzo need sealing, and how do I care for it?
Sealing is highly recommended — untreated, terrazzo naturally absorbs water. How often to re-seal depends on the use and foot traffic. Clean with neutral cleaners and avoid using excessive water.
How is terrazzo priced?
Priced per square metre and quoted to your project — the price depends on the design, finish and quantity. Request a quotation online or visit our showroom for samples.
Do you keep terrazzo in stock, and how long does it take?
Some items are in stock, but many are made to order with a lead time of about 2–4 weeks, so it’s best to order ahead. We provide site measurement, delivery across Qatar and installation by our own crews.
