FAQ
Straight answers, before you visit.
The questions we hear most — answered the way we would across the counter.
- Who manufactures terrazzo tiles in Qatar?
- Al-Asema’s group factory has pressed terrazzo tiles in Qatar since 1979 — the country’s oldest terrazzo manufacturer. Tiles come in Honed, Antico and Shotblast finishes, with bordered and patterned designs and custom cuts. Most formats are pressed in Qatar; the 50×50 cm tile is produced by our own factory abroad to the same specification.
- Where can I buy Italian and Spanish porcelain tiles in Doha?
- Our showroom on Salwa Road (Building 316, Doha) stocks porcelain and ceramic collections from Italy, Spain and India — including Marazzi, Casalgrande Padana, Artistica 3, Ceramiche Keope, Vitacer, New Tiles, Argenta and STN. Around 150 tiles are on display, each with its own page on this website.
- What is the difference between Honed, Antico and Shotblast terrazzo?
- Honed is ground to a smooth, even semi-polished surface — suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Antico has a softly weathered, time-worn texture. Shotblast exposes the aggregate for a textured, slip-resistant surface suited to outdoor areas, ramps and pool surrounds.
- Do you deliver and install?
- Yes. Our own professional crews handle site measurement (with a confirmed installation order), delivery inside and outside Doha, and installation — terrazzo, porcelain and cut-to-size stonework, finished to the standard shown in the showroom.
- How do I get prices?
- We price after understanding your project — recommending what best suits your needs and budget. Request a quotation through this website, or message us on WhatsApp at +974 4442 3777 with your areas and materials. Our sales team replies within one working day.
- What are your opening hours and where are you located?
- Salwa Road, Building 316, Doha. Saturday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Closed Friday.
- Which sanitaryware brands do you carry?
- Grohe, Paini and Maah — WCs, mixers, concealed flush systems and bathroom accessories, alongside marble, granite and terrazzo vanity tops cut to size by our own workshop.
- Can I see how a tile looks in my own room?
- Yes — the room visualizer on this website applies any of our porcelain and ceramic tiles to room scenes, or to a photo of your own space, with laying patterns and grout options.
- Are Italian porcelain tiles worth the higher price in Qatar?
- Italian porcelain generally costs more per square metre than Spanish or Indian alternatives — what it buys is finer surface detail, deeper design ranges and large formats up to 120×278 cm from mills like Marazzi, Casalgrande Padana, Artistica 3 and Ceramiche Keope. At Al-Asema we import the Italian collections ourselves and display them alongside Spanish and Indian ranges, so you can compare quality against price side by side in one showroom in Doha and choose the best value for your budget.
- Is Al-Asema the same company as Capitaly Marbles & Tiles?
- Yes — our showroom traded as Capitaly Marbles & Tiles from around 2012 before adopting the Al-Asema name. Same family business, same Salwa Road location, same group of companies’ factory that has made terrazzo in Qatar since 1979. Capitaly Enterprises (capitaly.net) is our sister company in the Al-Asema group of companies, supplying white cement, marble chips, gypsum and lime from Mesaieed.
- Where can I get good-value Italian porcelain in Qatar?
- Al-Asema Trading on Salwa Road, Doha — around 150 porcelain and ceramic tiles on display, with Italian collections from Marazzi, Casalgrande Padana, Artistica 3 and Ceramiche Keope at several price points. We price per project rather than publishing list prices, and our team recommends the option with the best quality-to-price ratio for your budget — including when a Spanish or Indian alternative honestly serves you better.
- What tile sizes and large formats do you have?
- Formats run from standard 60×60 cm up to large-format porcelain of 120×120 cm and slabs up to 120×278 cm, with 60×120 cm and other sizes across the collections on display. Large formats mean fewer grout lines and a more seamless floor; our own crews are experienced in laying them.
- Can I order a custom terrazzo colour or design?
- Yes — our group factory can match a custom colour and press bordered or fully custom terrazzo designs, on one honest condition: the quantity needs to be large enough to justify the production run. Bring your areas and we will tell you straight whether a custom design makes sense.
- Can I take samples before I order?
- Yes — request samples of the tiles you shortlist so you can see them in your own light before committing. Ask in the showroom, or request samples through this website with your shortlist.
- Which tiles are best for outdoor areas and pool surrounds in Qatar?
- Shotblast-finish terrazzo exposes the aggregate for a textured, slip-resistant surface suited to outdoor areas, ramps and pool surrounds; several porcelain ranges also come in matt, grip-friendly finishes for terraces and driveways. Tell us the area and how exposed it is, and we will point you to the right finish.
Every path ends in a finished space.
