Buyer’s guide

How to choose a tile showroom in Doha.

Tiles are a ten-year decision made in an afternoon. Before you buy — from us or anyone — here is what we would compare, speaking as people who have stood on both sides of the counter.

How much is actually on display

A catalog photo cannot show you how veining runs across a full tile, how a polished surface behaves under showroom light, or how two batches differ. Ask any showroom how many tiles are physically on display — not in the catalog, on the wall. The more you can touch, the fewer surprises on site. At Al-Asema around 150 porcelain and ceramic tiles stand on display, and every one of them has its own page on this website, so what you shortlist online is what you inspect in person.

Can you compare origins side by side

Italian, Spanish and Indian porcelain differ in price — and in surface detail, calibration and design depth. The only honest way to judge whether the difference matters for your project is to hold them next to each other. A showroom that stocks one origin can only sell you that origin. We stock five origins under one roof precisely so the comparison happens in front of you, and our advice is allowed to include: for this room, the cheaper tile serves you just as well.

Who actually installs

The most beautiful tile fails with a poor installer, and a supplier who hands you to a subcontractor also hands away responsibility for the finished floor. Ask who measures, who lays, and who answers if something is wrong a month later. Al-Asema installs with its own crews — the same company that sold you the tile is accountable for how it looks installed, and site measurement comes with a confirmed installation order.

Local manufacturing depth — especially for terrazzo

For terrazzo there is a simple question that sorts the market: are you buying from a manufacturer or a reseller? A factory can match a custom colour, press a bordered or fully custom design, and replace a batch years later. The Al-Asema group of companies’ own factory has pressed terrazzo in Qatar since 1979 — the oldest in the country — which is why custom designs and made-to-order patterns are a normal request here rather than an exception, with one honest condition: a custom design needs a large enough quantity to justify its production run. Bring your areas and we will tell you straight whether it makes sense.

How pricing works — and what suits you

Some showrooms publish list prices; others, like us, price per project after understanding your areas, quantities and budget. Published prices feel transparent but are built for the average order. Per-project pricing takes one conversation more and lets the recommendation fit the budget — including recommending the less expensive option where it honestly serves you better. Whichever model a showroom uses, expect a written quotation and a clear answer on what is included.

Proof, not promises

Ask to see installed work at real client sites, not just showroom floors. Check the Google reviews and how the business answers them. And where the tools exist, use them: our room visualizer applies any tile from this website to a photo of your own space before you commit a riyal.

Whoever you buy from, these questions take five minutes and save years of looking at a floor you settled for. If you would like our answers to them in person: Salwa Road, Building 316, Doha — Saturday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Every path ends in a finished space.

Request a quotation, visit the showroom, or just message us on WhatsApp — whichever is easiest for you.
